Santa by Eurdine Ringwelski

Many years ago a very special lady gifted me at Christmas with a pair of sheepskin-lined buckskin booties with red bows and bells tied to the toes. Along with the slippers that very closely resembled Elf boots, I received this wonderful story of a very special Christmas. I hope you enjoy it as much as I always have. Ernie has a wonderful gift for storytelling.

Forever Love Deleted Scene

This is the opening scene deleted from Forever Love just before the final edit. It was the first thing I wrote for the book and remained relatively intact throughout the writing process. I finally chose to remove it because I felt it slowed down the beginning. My biggest problem with it, quite frankly, was the first paragraph. No matter how many times I reworked it, I just couldn’t get it to flow in a way that pleased me.

In may ways, I wish the scene could have stayed because it’s a good introduction to Keegan. However, I still consider beginning with Cass the best hook for the book and got the story moving. Sometimes in writing, no matter how much you like something, it has to go for the sake of the story.

Short Announcement This Week

I'm working hard on The Seer hoping to get the novella all shiny and good so I can release it on Kindle Unlimited sooner rather than later. Therefore, this week's post is short and sweet while I announce a change to my Aeterni immortals series.

I discovered Forever Love was being linked as part of another author's Forever Series. Worse, the second book in her series is titled Together Forever, same as mine. In order to remove any association my books may have with hers, I've changed the series name to Circle of Ghadan. Everything else remains the same and the name fits the series very well.

Meanwhile, I'm heading off to work on editing A Vampire's Tale: The Seer.

Happy reading!

Lessons I've Learned From Video Games

Jade Empire by BioWare

I love BioWare video games. Way back at the beginning of the millennium a coworker convinced me get Baldur’s Gate and I’ve been hooked on BioWare ever since. My paranormal/fantasy books have been, to some extent, possible because of BioWare games. The way they tell a story and the characters they create have influenced me greatly.

They All Lived Happily Ever After...Or Did They?

Discussions have been popping up everywhere on whether or not romance books must have a happy-ever-after (HEA) ending. Or as I prefer to call it: An ending where you know the hero and heroine are going to face whatever life throws at them together. Happily satisfied and in love is a more realistic interpretation than a Cinderella “They all lived happily ever after”. A happily satisfied together ending is exactly what you can expect from all of my books.

Is This the Future of Print Books?

I love print books, still buy them, but I like eBooks as well. When I had a broken wrist a few years ago, I read a lot because with an external fixation device there was little else I could do for weeks. My Kindle was my friend and I loved looking for a book, buying it and reading it the same day. Also, I don't have to store those books like I do the hundreds of print books I have.

Below is a link to a long, but interesting and informative article on the future of eBooks.

Why Ebooks Will Eventually Replace Print

Sneak Peek of Forever Love

I'm excited to share the first sneak peek at my debut novel, Forever Love. Available at all major e-book stores.

Cassandra Marston has lived an ordinary twenty-nine years. She has always looked forward to meeting the right man, falling in love and growing to a comfortable old age with him. She wants to become what her grandmother had been. A loving protector.

When immortal Keegan fell from a tree at age seven in 443bc, his breaks healed unnaturally quick. His superstitious mother believed him a child of the Sidhe who’d replaced her true son. Fear drove her to disown him and remove him from their home. For thousands of years, Keegan has taken care of no one but himself.

Until now. After watching Cass die and return to life, he must learn to put someone else's needs before his own.

Read on for an excerpt from Forever Love...

Welcome

Welcome! Quite frankly, I have no real plans for this blog. I expect it'll be whatever comes to mind at the time.

I do want to share short stories of a unique style. If you're unfamiliar with Sims storytelling, I'll introduce you to that. It's where I started sharing my writing on the web. I still love the idea of putting pictures with words. For years I visited local comic book shops picking up my copies of Batman.

Also, and most important, I'll be talking about my paranormal romance series, Forever. I already have plans for the first four books in the series. Forever Love is available at all major eBook retailers.

Next up is Together Forever. As the first draft is still uncompleted, I can't say when to expect it on digital shelves, but I'll do my best to see it there as quickly as possible. But fair warning, I'm not a fast writer. I'd prefer to give you the best I can, rather than the fastest I can.

So, read on for "whatever".

Thank you for visiting!
